5-A-Side Football Competition
In 2007 the Sir Knights of Bangor District Chapter organised an Inter District 5-A-Side football competition which was very succcessful, and which caught the imagination of the Sir Knights in other parts of the County.
Over the last four years, competitions have been arranged by the Sir Knights of the District hosting the Last Saturday Demonstration and these have proved very popular, especially among the younger members.
This year the competition held on June 11th in Newry under the auspices of Newry District Chapter attracted five teams and after a well contested competition the team from Mourne again emerged the winners beating Bangor in the final. Afterwards the Deputy County Grand Master Right Worshipful Sir Knight Colin Whiteside expressed his thanks to all concerned and offered his congratulations to the worthy winners. He also said that he hoped that next year several more teams would be entered.
Next year's competition will be hosted by the Sir Knights of Ballynahinch and details will be forwarded to District Registrars early in 2012.
